Coconut & Cacao
Recipe by Juli | @juli_lobinha
A daily cacao ritual inspired by the lush agro-forestry of Ecuador, where cacao and coconut flourish side by side, nourishing one another and everyone who tends them. This simple, creamy cup honours that co-creation while remaining true to the minimalist spirit of ceremony.
Ingredients (Serves 1)
- 22–44 g Pachakuti ceremonial-grade cacao, finely chopped
- 2 Tbsp organic coconut milk (or coconut cream)
- Dash of warming spice blend (cinnamon & ginger)
- ½ cup water, plus a little extra to top up
Method
- Warm ½ cup water in a small pot—hot but never boiling.
- Add the chopped cacao and spice blend. Stir slowly until the cacao is fully melted.
- Pour in the coconut milk, continuing to stir gently until the drink turns silky and unified.
- If you like a fuller cup, splash in a little more hot water and give one last stir.
- Pour into your favourite ceremonial vessel. Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and listen as the plants speak.
Tips & Ritual Suggestions
- Temperature wisdom: Low heat preserves cacao’s bio-active heart-openers.
- Spice intuition: Adjust cinnamon or ginger to meet your body’s needs each day.
- Coconut twist: For a lighter texture, swap coconut milk for coconut water.
- Mindful pause: Hold the cup at heart level, set an intention, then sip slowly.
