The Amazonian Apothecary Kit brings together Pachakuti ceremonial cacao and some of Ecuador's hidden treasures in a single box.

At its heart is our ceremonial cacao, in two formats. The 1kg bag of Ceremonial Cacao Chunks is stone-ground from rare Arriba Nacional cacao and hand-cut into rustic pieces. The 250g of Ceremonial Cacao Drops is the same exceptional cacao in the easiest format to prepare. Both are 100% pure cacao paste, with nothing added.

Around the cacao sit three traditional Amazonian botanicals:

  • Guayusa: a leaf tea families across the Ecuadorian Amazon have gathered to drink before sunrise for generations. It is naturally caffeinated, smooth and never bitter.
  • Palo Santo: "holy wood", collected only from naturally fallen branches and left on the forest floor for at least three years. This lets its sweet, resinous scent mature.
  • Dragon's Blood: the vivid crimson resin of the Croton lechleri tree. Indigenous communities across Ecuador and Peru have valued it in their traditional practices for generations.

Everything comes with a Pachakuti Cotton Tote Bag.

Ceremonial Cacao Chunks & Drops

  • Warm 250ml of your liquid of choice.
  • Whisk in 20-30g of chopped Pachakuti cacao, or up to 42g for a full ceremonial serving.
  • Sweeten with maple, honey or agave and add spices to taste (optional).
  • Sit. Breathe. Sip slowly.
  • If you're new to ceremonial cacao, start with a smaller serving and increase gradually.
  • Naturally contains caffeine and theobromine.
  • Keep out of reach of dogs and other pets.

Guayusa Tea

  • Add 1–2 teaspoons to freshly heated water.
  • Steep for 5–10 minutes depending on desired strength.
  • Enjoy hot or chilled over ice.
  • Naturally contains caffeine. Those sensitive to caffeine may wish to limit consumption.
  • Not recommended for young children.

Palo Santo

  • Light the tip at a downward angle, then blow out the flame so the wood smoulders.
  • Move it gently through the air and rest it in a heatproof dish.
  • Never leave burning wood unattended, and ventilate the room.
  • For aromatic use only. Do not consume.

Dragon's Blood

  • For external use only. Apply a small amount with the dropper.
  • Patch test before wider use, and avoid the eyes and sensitive areas.
  • As a deep red resin it can mark fabrics before it dries, so handle with care.

For everything in the kit

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • If pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or under medical care, consult a healthcare professional before use.
  • Do not use if packaging is damaged or compromised.
