Frequently Asked Questions
What are Artisan Drops?
Artisan Drops are made from the same pure ceremonial cacao paste as our Artisan Bar and Original Cut formats. The only difference is the format. Each drop weighs approximately 1g, making them easy to measure, quick to melt and convenient for everyday preparation.
Are the drops made with the same cacao as your other formats?
Absolutely. All Pachakuti ceremonial cacao is crafted from the same rare Arriba Nacional cacao sourced in Ecuador. The format changes, but the cacao itself remains exactly the same.
How much cacao should I use?
Many customers enjoy between 15g and 25g as part of their daily routine, depending on personal preference. A full ceremonial serving is approximately 42g.
How do I prepare Artisan Drops?
Simply add your chosen amount to hot water or milk and blend until smooth. Because of their small size, the drops melt quickly and are ideal for convenient preparation.
What is Arriba Nacional cacao?
Arriba Nacional is a rare heirloom cacao variety native to Ecuador and widely regarded as one of the world's finest cacao varieties thanks to its naturally complex flavour profile and exceptional quality.
Is ceremonial cacao the same as cocoa powder?
No. Ceremonial cacao is made from whole cacao beans that have been stone-ground into a paste, helping to retain the natural cacao butter and full character of the bean. Cocoa powder is more heavily processed and has much of the cacao butter removed.
Can I customise my cacao?
Absolutely. Many customers enjoy adding ingredients such as honey, maple syrup, sea salt, orange oil, chilli or spices to create their own unique cacao ritual.
